Milestones

Lots of news in the Del Toro house this week. Pa'a marked the week with two big milestones. First, he finally (and yes, I mean FIANLLY) cut his first tooth. He's been working on it for about three months now, and is much happier now that it's finally out. For the time being, he has one sharp little bottom tooth and has been making some pretty silly faces running his tongue over it.

And secondly, he is officially crawling. For about two weeks now he's been doing what we've dubbed the "bulldozer." He gets up on his hands and knees, drops his head to the ground, walks his feet in till he's up on his tippy toes, then drops/lunges a little forward. He'll usually sit himself up, look around, then go again. It's been quite entertaining to watch, but given the size and weight of that head of his, it was a good beginners strategy. Then about Wednesday of this week, out of nowhere, he decided he was ready for the real deal. Hands and knees, tummy off the ground. And let me tell you, that boy can move! He is no longer content to sit and play with his toys and has been busy exploring all the new places he can get to.

His favorite places to explore are his brother's play area, where he fits right under his train table...
the sliding glass door and the vertical blinds...
and not pictured, but possibly one of his favorites, Hiwa's water & food dishes.

And of course, since standing and walking naturally follow crawling, he's been working on pulling himself up as well.
and he definitely loves it!
As for mommy....LONG gone are the days of being able to get things done. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. ;)

Recent favorites...

In no particular order, here are some of my recent favorite shots of our monkeys...

Ola: "Mommy, Daddy, I hiding! You coming to find me?" (He did have the suitcase closed, but the legs were sticking out of the bottom. We couldn't stop laughing.)

Happy little water baby and his faux hawk

"Mommy, mommy! My turn. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese!"

Even on time out. "Mommy, cheeeeeeeeeeeese!"

Static power!!

Helloooooo! I see you! And I'm coming to get you.

CANDY!!!!
With Mommy, using the potty = one fruit gummy. With Daddy, using the potty = the whole box of dots candy. (And yes, he is SUPER excited to have the whole box)

My nice, sweet, calm boys...

which lasts all of about 5 seconds, and then they're off...in different directions! lol!

Pa'a LOVES teether biscuits!

camping out in the living room when the boys were sick.

This is Daddy's doing.

Happy, happy water baby. Paused from his crazy splashing just long enough for the picture. ;)

With these two cuties, I have a milllion reasons to smile. ;)
