He likes to move it, move it!

Got a few short videos today of Ola moving.
This one was the best angle.
Not quite crawling, but something like it.

actually visible

Finally got a good shot of Ola's two new teeth. Even with chompers, he's still cute.

and another...

As if one weren't enough, Ola cut his second tooth. He now has his two bottom middle teeth. And even though they're barely visible, they are so cute. I'm sad that I'm having to say goodbye to the gummy smile...but he is still so adorable to me.

changes, changes

Talk about milestones. This week, Ola is just racking them up. This morning, he was chewing on my finger (a very normal thing for the past 3 months), when I noticed something sharp. Normally, the sharp sensation is due to him biting really really hard on a nerve or vein in my finger, but since he was actually biting "nicely", I decided to check it out. And there, on his lower gum, barely visible, was the tiny little edge of his first tooth. It wasn't even big enough to get a picture of, but it finally broke the surface. It's exciting, but sad. Aho and I were just saying the other day that we're going to miss his gummy smile when his teeth do come in. I guess I better enjoy the little time I have left with his toothless grin.

Almost perfect Valentine's

I've never really been big on Valentine's Day. I'm not one of those bitter women...I just never really got into it. But...I love how Aho and I do Valentine's. We don't do much, if anything, it's usually just whatever. This year was particularly funny because of our creativity (and last minute) gifts. My gift to Aho...loves donuts. I always tell him they're too expensive and we don't need them. So I splurged...$5.60 on his donuts. He knows that I love Liliha jelly. But trecking all the way over there for a tiny little container of jelly gets old. Luckily, my sister-in-law called the other day with the all important news that they are now selling their jelly in bottles. So, Aho went down and picked up a bottle for my V Day present...a splurge of $4.99. I love that our gifts, together, cost less than $11, but that they are totally perfect.

The day got better when we realized that our little monster is now becoming more mobile. While he's not up on his hands and knees (except to rock back and forth), as of V Day, Ola is now "tummy" crawling. It's so funny! But he is really getting all over the place now. He was so happy when he crawled over and got his teething ring all on his own.
And to get even better, I spent V night at the BEST concert I will ever go to in my entire life. Well, almost. I LOVE Boys II Men. And last night, they put on an amazing show. I was lucky enough to get to go with Lohi since both of our hubbys had to work. And that was the only reason it wasn't the best concert ever. The entire audience was filled with couples, the atmosphere was romantic, and Lohi and I were solo. And when they sang one of their love songs twice, for all the couples on the special occasion, it was really pretty depressing.
We both agreed that we're definately going the next time they come, but we're going with our husbands. Thanks for the date though Lohi. It was unforgettable!

Crazy Happy

For the most part, Ola is a pretty happy kid. But here is a glimpse at how crazy happy he can get. They're pretty similar, but I couldn't post just one.

I'm truly grateful for the crazy happy moments!!

TWO cuties

The other day, Ola and I spent some time at Cam & Lohi's house. Na'u was playing on her princess couch and we plopped Ola down next to her. Together, they made a perfect picture. After this, Na'u couldn't stop kissing Ola, and Ola kept reaching for her and staring in awe. When these two get older, they're going to be trouble.

6 month old

On Tuesday, Feb 3, Ola hit his 6 month b-day. I can't believe how fast this little boy is growing. Where did those 6 months go?? To commemorate the day, we took his monthly pictures in his 12 month outfit...which definately won't fit by next month (if it even makes it that far).
On Wednesday, we had his 6 month check-up, where he weighed in at 18 lbs. 2 oz., and a mere 26 inches. We're still hoping he grows into those large hands and feet he was born with. He got all his shots and the green light for more solids, water and juice, and flouride (for the teeth that will soon be arriving). He does have to practice sitting up, which we've been working on, and crawling. Right now he just rolls to where he wants to go. And, for my sake, he needs to work on sleeping. For the past two months he's been waking up every 1-2 hours....all night long. I'm hoping he grows out of this soon. What I wouldn't give for a straight 5 hours again. Anyone have any secrets, please...HELP!!

Frog Face

Ola recently started making a new facial expression that Aho and I have dubbed his "frog face." He started sucking in his bottom lip one night at dinner. And even though it made it harder to feed him, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Kiss a frog, get a prince????
